About
My career has been built around one consistent pattern: taking analytics capability that exists in pockets and turning it into something the whole business relies on. That has meant building ML platforms from scratch, standing up enterprise-wide intelligence systems, running GenAI pilot programs through to enterprise tool selection, and owning the full data workstream for major commercial products. The pattern is consistent: build the thing, build the adoption, build the trust.
Today I lead analytics functions where the standard is not just delivering the right analysis — it is building the environment in which the analysis gets used. That means hiring well, earning trust across the business, and making sure AI investments are grounded in real problems rather than catching up with the hype cycle.
Before moving into leadership, I spent years as a consultant delivering analytics projects across banking, retail, and telecom. That experience taught me how to work from commercial outcomes down to technical approach — and from data architecture back up to business impact. I consider that bidirectional fluency more valuable than any single technical capability.
Philosophy
I believe the best analytics leaders are builders first. The hardest part of data work is rarely the technical challenge; it is building the conditions for adoption, earning the trust of stakeholders who have been burned by data projects before, and framing the right question before anyone writes a line of code.
I also believe that AI transformation is a leadership challenge, not a technology challenge. The organisations that will win are the ones that pair technical capability with clear-eyed thinking about where AI genuinely adds value and where it does not. Lead with what you build, not with your ability to straddle tech and business.
What Makes Me Different
Commercial
Managed $500M+ partner ecosystems, built business cases for AI investments at C-suite level, and owned commercial outcomes — not just analytics outputs.
Technical
Built ML platforms, intelligence systems, and GenAI programs end to end — including adoption, governance, and the operational framing that makes technical products stick across the organisation.
Frontier
Actively building agentic AI applications with current tooling (Claude API, LangGraph, Google ADK) — not just overseeing others who do. Most senior leaders are not operating at this level of implementation depth.
What I Am Working On
I am building Analytics in the AI Era, a newsletter and content platform for data and analytics leaders navigating the shift to AI. I publish Insight Articles, Practitioner Guides, and real-time commentary on developments in the space.
In parallel, I am developing a suite of hands-on AI and analytics projects — including a text-to-SQL engine, an analytics concierge system, and a personalised content generation tool — to stay sharp on the technical frontier.
I am also actively exploring my next senior leadership role in analytics or data, with a focus on organisations where AI and data are genuinely central to the business strategy.
